Campaign One - Fundraising
Fundraising is taken very seriously as at present we do not receive any funding from other sources. This section will be added to. Keeping you in touch with who is helping us. The fundraising team headed by the treasurer worked really hard in the fundraising shop in Holywell and raised in excess of £500.00, and at our first promotion with the new tent Shelia went on to raise over £100.00. The extent of this fundraising has ensured the continued work of the organisation for the next few months. Congratulations to Shelia and her team.HDNW has not had any funding from any source over the past 3 years and its a credit to everyone that this has not been neccessary. In fact 4 years ago HDNW raised a massive ( by their terms) £2000.00 to help Flintshire Neighbourhood Watch Association purchase the car they use on their promotions. Back to top
Campaign Two - Public Awareness
At this time of year please take extra precautions. If you are out in your car, make sure you leave all valuables out of site, locked in the boot if possible. Do not leave anything that can be seen from outside the car, particularly small valuable items. Once you have locked up your car have a look around it, through the windows, if you can see valuable items, so will some one else and if they want it they will get it.On the beach, make sure you take care of your wallet, mobile phone, and credit/store or debit cards, handbags etc., do not become a target of pickpockets or oppertunist theives.
Be more security conscious at home. Make sure everything is secure before you go out. If you are going away make sure that you stop all your daily deliveries, let your neighbours know you are going and arrange for some one to make sure nothing is left sticking out of the letter box. If you have some one who can visit on a daily basis to open or close curtains and switch different lights on all the better. Another good tip is to put a couple of table lamps controlled by plug in time switches. These can turn lights on and off so helping with the security of your house. Back to top

Recruitment and Retention of Members
This section will include information on who to contact when you want to start a neighbourhood watch scheme. We will also give details on how to recruit members for your scheme and how to ensure you keep them. Retention of members is very important and there are many ways you can do this. Communication is an important factor so we will run courses on this subject giving ideas on the way to contact and motivate people. Back to topCommunity Action Team & Youth Team
A new group aimed at taking the message to the community and working with them on a range of projects to energise local action is now moving forward. The youth section continues to grow. We had an excellent report from a member of the public on the behaviour and attitude of the young people who attended the promotion in Holywell. Not only did he write to us but also their school as he felt they where a credit to both. Again congratulations to these young people who show a positive side of the youth of today. Back to top
North Flintshire Community Action Team (NFCAT)
We are now partnership working with a major national charity undertaking target hardening for them. Before we could undertake this role we had to train with the organisation to understand their role, their approach, and how to work with victims of crime. This training, which took 6 full days, prepared us for what we might have to deal with in our target hardening role. In fact it was so good we actually joined the organisation and regularly work with victims of crime. Partnership working is definetly the way forward, forming valuable links so that we can signpost people to the correct organisation to deal with their problem. We fit quality security equipment which is reliable and easy to use. While we can report on a lot of the work we do within HDNW and NFCAT this is one area we can't. We hope our members will understand as it is important to protect the people we work with. However if you are aware of some one living in fear of crime, please contact us and we will see what we can do to help. Back to top
